Escape and Doc Poulson

11/20/2001

Escape was a nice wall dive but I spent a good part of it deleting pictures from the day before as I had forgotten to a bulk delete before the dive and so the mem card was full after about 10 pics.  So I missed the giant rainbow parrotfish that swam right between us and the big hogfish scrounging in the sand near the edge of the wall.

In the surface interval, I deleted the rest of the prior day's pics and put the wide angle lens on for the next dive, the Doc Poulson, which James took us to at my request.  However I screwed up again by leaving the camera exposed to the sun for 30min or so before the dive so when it hit the cool water the lens immediately fogged up and I didn't have a silica gel packet inside to help dry it out.  So all pics taken for first 30min of the dive have a nice big blur in the center of the frame.  It finally cleared and I was able to get a few good pics toward the end of the dive.
