Snorkeling

11/2001

At cemetery reef, there were some healthy coral heads 200yds out, saw a 4' nurse shark and a nice sized eagle ray but I had loaded drained batteries and so didn't get any pics that time.
We did a cool nighttime snorkel there too and saw lobsters, cardinal fish, made the plankton glow, but didn't take the camera though.  All the nearby coral is there is dead but still shelters lots of fish.
The kids really enjoyed the snorkeling at Eden Rock where we saw lots of stuff and the depth varies from 10 to 40'.  I somehow loaded my camera in the case so that the on/off control did not engage properly so didn't get any pics there.  Always check on/off functionality before you get it wet.
Then we snorkeled a few times in front of London House.  Coral heads at 200 yds are dead but shelter lots of fish, some big lobsters, and found a good sized octopus.  We snorkeled on out about 400 yds with my dive flag float where we found healthy coral and lots of fish.
A few rays, turtles, and the lone barracuda also kept us company.  Wanted to do a night snorkel to look for the octopus and lobster out in the open but we didn't get to it.  Oh well, here are the best pics.
