Sleeping accommodations include two queen beds, two twin beds, and a rollaway for a max occupancy of 7 adults. Click here for a photo album of the house The house was built around 1920 using traditional wattle and daub construction of that time. It then had a front porch, living room, and 2 bedrooms. Kitchen and toilet facilities were separate from the main house. Some time later, the house was expanded to the rear adding a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and utility room. I found this house for sale in November 2000 and thought it could be updated into a nice vacation retreat while retaining its original Caymanian character. Renovation began in the spring of 2001 with my old Caymanian buddy Dave Christian handling the construction. Renovation was completed in summer 2001, and Department of Tourism licensing was obtained shortly after. The walls, roof, and porch are all original. Ceramic floor tile has been installed throughout. Other updates include new bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, washer/drier, ceiling fans, air conditioning, TV and VCR. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded and makes for a perfect retreat. |
